Abstrak

The objectives of this study are to find out; (1) The role of AL-AMIN Orphanage of Muhammadiyah Jetis Ponorogo in creating Smart and Good Citizen, (2) The inhibitor factors in creating Smart and Good Citizen in AL-AMIN Orphanage of Muhammadiyah Jetis, Ponorogo. This study used qualitative research approach, that is, descriptive qualitative. Based on the research result, it is found that: (1) The role of AL-AMIN 
Orphanage of Muhammadiyah Jetis, Ponorogo in creating Smart and Good Citizen was done by : (a)  Formal Education , AL-AMIN Orphanage is giving a facility’s orphanage children free scholl at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Ponorogo and MA Muhammadiyah 3 Ponorogo, (b) Non-formal, by religion education in orphanage, (c) Informal education, by take care a child and intensivse watching out. Civic knowledge can be achieved not only at school, but also in an orphanage by religion education. Civic skill can be achieved in orphanage. However, skill which was built was more dominant on participatory skill while the intellectual skill hasn’t been achieved well by the orphanage children. Meanwhile, the civic disposition was achieved by scholl, orphanage, and circles of orphanage. (2) There were inhibitor factors in creating Smart and Good Citizen. The inhibitor was in the form of internal and external factor. Internal factor is factor coming from the orphanage children themselves, that is, the intelligent ability they have and their own character. Solutions to solve the internal factors was done by using approaching, noticing, and loving method. The second factor was external factor coming from outside of the orphanage children. The external factor was in the form of (a) Educator  in the orphanage. The learning process was not effective because the educator often permits for another activity, so often any  empity time learning in the class, (b) There was minus an educator, (c) The learning media like LCD projector, and children’s handout. In solving those external inhibitor factors, betterment is being done in the education system in the orphanage, whether it is 
on the educator, media, or the facilities.
