Albuchuts: Journal of Arabic Literary Studies invites scholars, researchers, lecturers, and postgraduate students to submit original manuscripts for:

Vol. 1 No. 2 (December 2026)

Albuchuts is published by the Arabic Literature Department, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Indonesia, and is issued twice a year in June and December.

The journal welcomes original research articles and scholarly reviews in the following areas:

  • Arabic phonetics and phonology
  • Arabic morphology
  • Arabic syntax
  • Arabic semantics and pragmatics
  • Arabic sociolinguistics
  • discourse studies
  • translation studies
  • literary theory and criticism
  • classical Arabic literature
  • modern and contemporary Arabic literature
  • comparative literature
  • children's literature
  • digital literature
  • Arab cultural studies
  • cultural heritage
  • popular culture and media related to Arab societies

Interdisciplinary studies are welcome where the primary object of study and scholarly contribution remain clearly connected to Arabic language, literature, translation, or Arab culture.

Manuscript Requirements

Manuscripts should:

  • contain approximately 5,000–8,000 words, excluding references;
  • include an abstract of 150–250 words;
  • provide 3–5 keywords;
  • follow APA 7th Edition for citations and references;
  • be written in English, Arabic, or Indonesian;
  • provide an English title, abstract, and keywords;
  • be original and not under consideration by another journal;
  • meet the journal's similarity requirement of maximum 20% overall and maximum 2% from any single source.

All manuscripts are subject to initial editorial screening and double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

Publication and Access

Albuchuts provides:

  • immediate open access;
  • DOI for published articles;
  • no submission fee;
  • no article processing charge;
  • publication under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
