Plagiarism and Originality Policy

Every manuscript submitted for publication in Conflict & Security Review is checked for plagiarism upon submission and before being sent to the editor for editorial review.

Conflict & Security Review uses Turnitin Software to detect overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts.

How are manuscripts suspected of plagiarism handled?

Manuscripts detected with plagiarism are handled based on the level of plagiarism.

<5% plagiarism - Manuscripts are assigned a manuscript ID and immediately returned to the author for content revision.
5–25% plagiarism - Manuscripts are NOT assigned a manuscript ID and immediately returned to the author for content revision.
>25% plagiarism - Manuscripts are rejected without editorial review. Authors are advised to revise the sections of the manuscript suspected of plagiarism and resubmit it as a new manuscript.
