Abstract

The development of digital technology and the ease of digital access affect the mindset of users, particularly children. Digital technology serves as a medium for the dissemination of radicalism to children, who are classified into four categories ; child victims, child witnesses, child perpetrators, and children of perpetrators. This study aims to determine the child protection regulations concerning children acting as child witnesses and/or victims, and to analyze the effectiveness of legal protection for child witness-victims in uncovering digital radicalism networks. The research method used is normative legal research, which examines the effectiveness of legal protection for children in the digital space and analyzes applicable legal regulations. Employing descriptive and conceptual approaches, data collection was conducted through the documentation of primary and secondary legal materials. The results of the study indicate that there is a legal vacuum regarding the effectiveness of progressive legal protection such as digital identity protection, securing digital forensic evidence, and maintaining the confidentiality of child witness victims to serve the chain of digital extremism networks.
