The Pulauku Nol Sampah (My Island Zero Waste) program on Pramuka Island aimed to reduce plastic waste through waste segregation and coastal clean-up activities. However, the collected plastic waste has not been optimally utilized to create value-added products. This community service program aimed to enhance community capacity in plastic waste recycling by implementing a plastic shredder and a manual powered injection molding machine. The program consisted of planning, mold design and fabrication, machine installation, operational demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and evaluation. Participants received training on plastic identification, washing and shredding processes, machine operating parameters, injection molding procedures, and occupational safety practices. The results demonstrated significant improvement in participants' knowledge and practical skills in operating the equipment and understanding proper plastic recycling procedures. Participants successfully processed shredded plastic into functional products using injection molding technology. In addition to improving technical competencies, the program transformed community perceptions of plastic waste from an environmental burden into a valuable resource with economic potential, thereby supporting the circular economy, reducing coastal plastic pollution, and promoting community-based ecotourism. Furthermore, the program contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through community capacity building, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through plastic waste recycling, SDG 14 (Life Below Water) by reducing coastal plastic pollution, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among universities, Rumah Literasi Hijau, and the local community.
