DEVELOPMENT OF FIELD TENNIS SPORTS IN MANGKUNEGARAN 1948-1983

Abstract

Field tennis is a sport of the aristocrats, but over time field tennis began to be recognized by the wider
community, especially in Mangkunegaran and Surakarta. This research aims, first, to explain the
development of sports associations in Mangkunegaran during the period of K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunegara VII
and K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunegara VIII. Secondly, it explains the management of field tennis sport in
Mangkunegaran related to field construction infrastructure to facilitate the field tennis sport association
in Mangkunegaran. Third, it describes the situation of the development of field tennis and its athletes who
helped advance the achievements of field tennis in Surakarta.
