PEMBERDAYAAN PEREMPUAN OLEH REZIM MILITER JEPANG DALAM SURAT KABAR ASIA RAYA 1942-1945

Abstract

This study aims to find out the Japanese propaganda towards women that is displayed in the Asia Raya
newspaper. Based on the analysis of the sources used, the Japanese government launched propaganda
actions to encourage women to support Japan's aspirations to win the war. The Japanese government
published propaganda material for women in the Asia Raya newspaper which had circulation in several cities
on the island of Java. The Japanese government launched its propaganda against Indonesian women in the
Asia Raya newspaper with five periods. First, it introduces a picture of Japanese women's lives. Second, it
displays news about the inauguration of several women's educational institutions as a way of life for Japanese
women in Indonesia. Third, it displays the activities of the Women's Section of the Men's Workers' Front.
Fourth, displays the activities of the Fujinkai organization. Fifth, start showing women's involvement towards
Indonesian independence.
