PERANAN KH MA’RUF MANGUNWIYOTO PADA MASA REVOLUSI FISIK DI SURAKARTA (1945-1949)

Abstract

The socio-political condition of Surakarta during the physical revolution in 1945-1949 there was a social
revolution movement and the recolonization of the Netherlands so that it became the cause of the birth of the
struggle of Muslims. During the physical revolution (1945-1949) in Surakarta, KH. Ma'ruf Mangunwiyoto
served as the leader of the Barisan Kiai as well as advising the Hezbollah and Sabilillah Army. In addition to
providing ideological, physical, and spiritual formation of fighters, KH. Ma'ruf Mangunwiyoto along with
Barisan Kiai also fought on the battlefield. Therefore, KH. Ma'ruf Mangunwiyoto became an important figure
in the movement of Islamic fighters, especially Muslims in Surakarta.
