Peer Preview Process

Every manuscript submitted to Montase: Jurnal Desain Komunikasi Visual will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure its academic quality and contribution to the field. The review policies are detailed as follows:
  1. Initial Screening: The Editor-in-Chief or Section Editors will conduct an initial evaluation regarding the manuscript's alignment with the journal's focus and scope, adherence to the author guidelines, and potential plagiarism issues (maximum similarity index of 20%). Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic criteria will be rejected immediately.
  2. Review Method: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in Visual Communication Design and related fields. This journal applies a Double-Blind Peer Review system, meaning the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept strictly confidential from each other throughout the process.
  3. Review Outcomes: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editorial board will make the final decision. The possible outcomes are:
    • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication without modifications.
    • Revisions Required: The author needs to address minor comments and submit a revised version.
    • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires major revisions and must undergo another round of review after being revised.
    • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to significant flaws in methodology, substance, or lack of originality.
  4. Timeline: The entire review process typically takes 6 to 8 weeks from the date the manuscript successfully passes the initial screening.

Setiap artikel yang dikirimkan ke Montase: Jurnal Desain Komunikasi Visual akan melalui proses penelaahan sejawat (review) sebagai berikut:
  1. Evaluasi Awal: Editor melakukan pemeriksaan awal terkait kesesuaian naskah dengan fokus dan ruang lingkup jurnal, kepatuhan terhadap panduan penulisan, serta indikasi plagiarisme (maksimal 20%). Naskah yang tidak memenuhi syarat akan langsung ditolak.
  2. Proses Penelaahan (Review): Naskah yang lolos evaluasi awal akan dikirimkan kepada minimal dua orang Reviewer yang kompeten di bidangnya. Jurnal ini menerapkan sistem Double-Blind Peer Review, di mana identitas penulis dan reviewer saling dirahasiakan.
  3. Keputusan Akhir: Keputusan akhir mengenai penerimaan naskah (Diterima, Revisi Ringan, Revisi Total, atau Ditolak) berada di tangan Editor-in-Chief berdasarkan rekomendasi dari para reviewer.
  4. Waktu Proses: Seluruh proses review diperkirakan membutuhkan waktu 6–8 minggu.
