Plagiarism and Originality Policy
International Journal of Critical Sustainability upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. All submitted manuscripts must represent the original work of the authors and must not have been published previously or be under consideration by another journal.
Plagiarism Detection

All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be screened for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin or equivalent).

Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20%, excluding properly cited quotations and references, may be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

Any attempt to pass off another’s work, ideas, data, or words as one’s own without proper attribution will be considered plagiarism.
Types of Unacceptable Plagiarism

Direct Plagiarism: Copying text from a source without citation or quotation marks.

Self-Plagiarism: Republishing the author's own previously published work without disclosure or permission.

Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases from a source without using quotation marks, even if cited.

Inadequate Paraphrasing: Changing only a few words or sentence structure from a source without proper citation.
Consequences

Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected immediately.

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article may be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be issued.

Authors involved in unethical practices may be banned from future submissions and reported to their institutions.
Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts.

Proper citation and referencing of all sources, including their own previously published work, are mandatory.
