Global climate change adaptations are initiated through international frameworks such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It generates contribution from individuals and groups, as well as Non-Governmental Organizations and countries after ratification of the convention. The idea of pluralism assesses the existence of non-state actors in the global interaction. One of them is the tree-planting projects by a 'not-for-profit company’ in the form of a search engine, Ecosia. The company carries out several projects in Indonesia, one of its partners is Gunung Saran Lestari Foundation (YGSL) succeeded in, maintaining cooperation since its inception in 2016. The objective of this research is to examine the factor of sustainable cooperation and the impact to perceive the importance of the cooperation. The Community Development concept by Jim Ife is used to explain the adoption of values in determining community-based development by both actors. This research uses qualitative methods with documentation study techniques. The data is limited on Sumatra and Kalimantan regions, reliance on data primarily sourced from internet and an interview conducted with YGSL, which may restrict the comprehensive of the findings. Research indicates that global climate change adaptations involve collective action by non-state actors. Sustainable cooperation between Ecosia and YGSL emphasizes community-based development values for mutual benefit and positive environmental impact. It is hoped that this research can provide knowledge regarding the strategic role of non-state actors in the national and international agenda. As well as influencing collective movements to contribute to overcoming global climate change.
