Author Guidelines

Performa: Media Ilmiah Teknik Industri is associated with the scientific field of Industrial Manufacturing Engineering and Management. The scope of themes published in this journal is presented in the Focus and Scope section.

Authors who wish to publish articles must use the journal template and follow the writing instructions. Manuscripts that do not comply with these instructions will be returned for revision without review. The Chief Editor reserves the right to return manuscripts that are not prepared in accordance with the journal’s guidelines.


General Instructions

  • Articles must be written in English.

  • Articles should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Other formats such as LaTeX or PDF are not accepted.

  • The manuscript should be 10 to 15 pages in length, including references.

Detailed Guidelines

Title
The title should be a maximum of 15 words, written in title case, and must accurately reflect the subject of the article. It should not allow multiple interpretations or contain uncommon abbreviations.

Author Profile
All authors’ full names should be written without academic titles. Each author’s institutional affiliation and email address must be provided. The corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk (*) before the email address.

Abstract and Keywords
The abstract must be written in two languages, Bahasa Indonesia and English, with a length of 100 to 250 single-spaced words in one paragraph. It should include background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. References and uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential, must be defined at first mention. Keywords should not exceed five terms or phrases, must be arranged alphabetically, and should represent the content and key focus of the article. Abbreviations should be limited to those widely recognized in the field, such as ISO.

Introduction
The introduction should contain the research background, review of related works, and research objectives. It must be presented as a single section, without subsections. Authors are expected to include a state-of-the-art review to demonstrate novelty and research contribution. If necessary, a table can be used to show the relationship between previous studies and the present work.

Research Method
This section should explain the procedures and methods used in conducting the research. All stages must be described clearly to allow readers to follow the research flow. Mathematical equations used in the analysis may also be included.

Results and Discussion
This section should present the findings of the research in detail. Discussions must highlight significant contributions and compare findings with other studies where relevant. Supporting tables, graphs, and figures may be included to strengthen the analysis.

Conclusion
The conclusion should directly address the research objectives, summarize key findings, state research limitations, and suggest directions for future work. It must be written in paragraph form, not as bullet points.

Acknowledgments
Authors may include acknowledgments for individuals or institutions that supported the research and publication process, including funding bodies.

References

  • References must be arranged alphabetically and typed single-spaced.

  • Primary references such as journal articles, conference proceedings, and books should be prioritized.

  • All cited works must appear in the reference list, and uncited works are not permitted.

  • At least 80% of the references must come from journal articles published within the last 5 years. Classical works may be cited for background purposes, but not as a basis for originality.

  • References must follow the 7th edition of the APA style.

  • Reference management tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Microsoft Word are strongly recommended.

In-text Citations
Follow the 7th edition of the APA style. Examples:

  • At the beginning of a sentence: Sutopo and Kusuma (2014) state that...

  • At the end of a sentence: ... (Zarandi and Prasetya, 2007), or ... (Handayani and Puji, 2009; Jawahir and Susatyo, 2010; Ahmad and Yuniawati, 2014).

  • For works with more than two authors, use et al.

References List

Follow the 7th edition of the APA style. Examples:

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscript has not been published and is not being submitted for publication in another journal.
  2. Articles submitted to the Performa journal must be plagiarism-free. According to the U.S. Federal Policy on Research Misconduct (http://www.aps.org/policy/statements/federalpolicy.cfm), plagiarism is the process of taking peoples’ ideas, processes, results, and statements without proper acknowledgment/citation to the original owners. We will use the Turnitin tool to check the level of similarity of article manuscripts, which should not exceed 20%.
  3. All authors agree to the process of submitting articles to the Performa journal in accordance with the author's name and authorship's order. According to the ICMJ Recommendation 2013 (http://www.icmje.org/recommendations), authorship of articles is based on the following criteria:
    • Contribution to the research concept or design; 
    • Analysis or interpretation of data; 
    • Preparation of research or improvements made for intellectual content purposes;
    • Final approval of the articles to be published; and e) responsible for all aspects of the research.
  4. Issues related to authorship, such as the name of authors and order, must be resolved by fellow authors before articles are submitted to the Performa journal. This is because authorship changes are not permitted after submitting the article to the journal.
  5. Articles submitted to the Performa journal must be free of conflicts of interest. Therefore, if there is a conflict of interest related to the publication of the article, the author is responsible for its resolution in the future.
  6. Manuscript files in Microsoft Word format are made by following the guideline of the journal Performa: Media Teknik Industri. The template can be downloaded here.
