Peer Review Process
SPEAR: Studies in Physics Education and Applied Research is committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality and research integrity. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous and transparent evaluation process to ensure their relevance, originality, methodological soundness, and contribution to the field.
- The editor conducts an initial review of the submitted manuscript through the initial review At this stage, a desk evaluation is carried out to assess the manuscript’s suitability with the focus and scope of SPEAR, including similarity checking using anti-plagiarism software, identification of methodological flaws, and readability of the article. Manuscripts that are deemed by the editor not to meet the journal’s criteria will be rejected without undergoing external review.
- Manuscripts considered to have potential and relevance to the readership will be forwarded to at least two anonymous reviewers through the Double-Blind Peer-Review
- Feedback from the anonymous reviewers will be forwarded to the corresponding author for necessary revisions and responses. After the revision process is completed by the author, the editorial team, through a meeting, will recommend the final decision regarding the manuscript, with several possible outcomes: rejection, major revision, minor revision, or acceptance.
- The editor will then communicate the final decision to the corresponding author.
- The accepted manuscript will proceed to the language editing (copyediting) and layout editing stages in order to prepare the camera-ready paper.
