Focus and Scope

The scope of SPEAR covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  1. Physics Education: Curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment in physics education, along with innovative teaching and learning approaches, including digital and laboratory-based learning.
  2. Applied Science: Research in applied physics, chemistry, biology, and interdisciplinary sciences, along with the application of scientific principles to solve real-world problems, particularly in resource-limited contexts.
  3. Engineering and Technology: Studies on engineering and the integration of technology in science, including the development and implementation of engineering solutions for education and community development.
  4. Educational Technology and Innovation: Digital tools, simulations, and e-learning platforms, along with technology-enhanced learning environments such as Internet of Things (IoT) applications, virtual/augmented reality, and remote laboratories.
  5. Global South Contexts: Research addressing unique challenges, opportunities, and innovations in education in developing countries, as well as comparative studies between Global South and Global North educational systems.
