Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis dan Terapan Indonesia (MEISTER) applies zero tolerance to plagiarism and sets out the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified in a manuscript submitted for publication.
Definition: Plagiarism is "the use or close imitation of another author's language and thoughts and has been represented as the individual's original work".
Policy: Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not awaiting publication in another journal. Any material taken verbatim from another source needs to be clearly identified as distinct from the existing original text by means of (1) indentation, (2) use of quotation marks, and (3) identification of the source.
Any text that exceeds fair use standards, defined as more than two or three sentences or equivalent, or any graphic material reproduced from another source requires permission from the copyright holder. In addition, where possible, one should seek the consent of the original author. It is also important to properly list sources, including previous publications.
All submitted manuscripts will be checked for similarity using Turnitin.
Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis dan Terapan Indonesia (MEISTER) has zero tolerance for plagiarism. The journal uses Turnitin to evaluate the similarity index, which then takes the following actions:
- Similarity Index above 30%: Manuscript rejected (due to poor citation and poor paraphrasing, the manuscript is rejected outright, NO RESUBMISSIONS accepted)
- Similarity Index 15-30%: Send to the author for correction (give correct citations to all places of similarity and do good paraphrasing even when citations are given)
- Similarity Index less than 15%: Acceptance or correction of citations may be required (proper citations should be given for all outsourced text).
In cases 2 and 3, Authors should carefully revise the manuscript, add necessary citations, and paraphrase the outsourced text well. Furthermore, the author should resubmit the manuscript with a new Turnitin report showing NO PLAGIARISM and less than 15% similarity.
Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Manajemen Bisnis dan Terapan Indonesia (MEISTER) is scanned using Turnitin.
