Author Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit original, high-quality manuscripts that align with the aims and scope of the Journal of Gender and Population Studies (JGPS). Before submission, please read and follow these guidelines carefully.

1. Manuscript Types
JGPS accepts the following types of articles:

Original Research Articles

Review Articles
-
Theoretical or Conceptual Papers

Policy Briefs or Commentaries
2. General Requirements

Manuscripts must be written in English (or optionally in Bahasa Indonesia, if permitted by the editorial board).

All submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere.
-
Use 12-point Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing, and A4 page size with 2.5 cm margins.
-
The manuscript should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
3. Manuscript Structure
A typical manuscript should include:

Title: Concise and informative (max. 20 words)

Author(s) and Affiliations: Full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses
-
Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing the objectives, methods, findings, and implications
-
Keywords: 3–5 keywords
-
Introduction: Background, problem formulation, and objectives
-
Methods: Research design, data sources, procedures, and analysis
-
Results: Key findings presented clearly
-
Discussion: Interpretation, implications, and relevance to gender and population studies
-
Conclusion: Summary of findings, limitations, and recommendations
-
References: Use APA Style (7th edition)
Optional sections such as Acknowledgements, Funding, or Author Contributions may be included before the references.
4. Citation and References

Use APA (7th edition) citation style.
-
Ensure all cited works are listed in the references and vice versa.

Use a reference management tool (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote) if possible.
5. Tables and Figures

Number tables and figures consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).

Provide a title and caption for each.

Insert them in the main body of the manuscript, close to where they are mentioned.
6. Ethical Considerations
Authors must:

Ensure ethical approval (if required) for human or data-based research
-
Disclose conflicts of interest
-
Avoid plagiarism (manuscripts will be checked)
7. Submission Process

Submit manuscripts via the journal’s online submission system or email (as specified on the journal’s website).

A cover letter should accompany the submission, stating the article title, authorship confirmation, and any ethical disclosures.
8. Review Process
-
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.
-
The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks.
9. Post-Acceptance
-
After acceptance, authors will receive galley proofs for final correction.
-
Final versions will be published online with full open access.
