About the Journal

The Journal of Gender and Population Studies is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing critical scholarship at the intersection of gender, identity, and population dynamics. We provide a platform for researchers, theorists, and practitioners to explore how gendered experiences shape—and are shaped by—demographic, cultural, political, and economic transformations across local and global contexts.

We welcome contributions that engage with:

  • Gender and migration, labor, fertility, and family structures
  • Intersectionality and structural inequalities
  • Discursive and symbolic power in demographic narratives
  • Methodological innovations in gender and population research
  • Comparative, transnational, and regionally grounded perspectives

The journal is especially committed to amplifying voices from the Global South and fostering dialogue between Western and Southeast Asian intellectual traditions. We encourage work that bridges theory and practice, and that challenges dominant paradigms through contextually grounded, inclusive inquiry.

Our aim is to cultivate a scholarly space that is rigorous, reflexive, and responsive to the evolving realities of gender and population in the 21st century.
