Abstract

Documentary film is a form of nonfiction audiovisual work that is specifically designed to represent reality or real events in people's lives. Through a factual approach, this film aims to convey information, provide education, and document social, cultural, or historical aspects that are considered important to know and remember.

The work created by the author in this final project is a documentary film about the problems in Tumang Hamlet, which is known as a copper craft center. The problem arises because the younger generation in this hamlet is reluctant to learn the art of making crafts, which ultimately has an impact on the threat of regeneration of craftsmen. Based on its type, the documentary “Tempa: Redupnya Generasi Kriya di Dusun Tembaga”  is a historical portrait documentary, because it tells the history of the beginning of Tumang Hamlet to become a copper craft center and emphasizes the human interest side of the sources.

The author as a producer considered choosing this documentary film on the regeneration of craftsmen in Tumang Hamlet to review the history, hear the opinions of senior craftsmen and young craftsmen who still have the spirit and still choose to become craftsmen. With this movie, it is hoped that the people of Tumang Hamlet, especially the younger generation, can be inspired to learn the art of copper craft as an art that has taken root in this hamlet.
