PERAN PRODUSER DALAM PEMBUATAN FILM DOKUMENTER “GERBANG MENUJU UTARA”

Abstract

This Final Project entitled "The Role of the Producer in the Making of the Documentary Film 'Gerbang Menuju Utara'" explains the work of a producer in the production process of a documentary film. This documentary film raises the issue of the "History" of the Astana Oetara building, the tomb of a King of Mangkunegaran, namely KGPAA Mangkunegara VI or Raden Mas Suyitno.

In the process of making this documentary, the author served as the producer who had full responsibility for providing direction and managing production needs, including all team members, both creatively and in terms of production management, which included a mutually agreed-upon budget plan, to achieve the success of the common goal.

The producer is responsible for ensu ring the availability of production equipment and meeting the needs of each division, including the director, cameraman, and scriptwriter. The author and the team hope that this documentary film can serve as an educational and informational medium for the general public to learn that there are many historical buildings in the city of Solo that are not yet widely known by the public, one of which is Astana Oetara. The purpose of making this documentary is to introduce to the general public what the Astana Oetara building is, the history of its construction, the figure entombed in Astana Oetara, and why Astana Oetara was eventually designated as a Cultural Heritage Building of the city of Surakarta.
