Peer Review Policies

Bio-Pedagogi: Jurnal Pembelajaran Biologi aligns its peer review policies with the best practices established by industry-leading publishers, such as Nature, Springer, and Elsevier. The journal employs a double-blind peer review process; consequently, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation. It is the sole responsibility of the authors to ensure their manuscript and all supplementary materials are fully anonymized prior to submission.

  • All identifying information, including author names and affiliations, must be completely redacted from the Main Manuscript and all accompanying files (e.g., figures or supplementary material).

  • The Title Page must be submitted separately and include the manuscript title, abstract, the names and affiliations of all authors, the corresponding author's full contact details, and any necessary acknowledgments, disclosures, or funding statements.

  • Authors should avoid citing their own work in a way that could reveal their identity.

Initial Review

  • The submitted manuscript is first reviewed by the Editorial Board.
  • The Editorial Board is responsible for determining if a manuscript meets the following mandatory criteria: suitability for the journal's scope, methodological soundness, adherence to the template, and passing the plagiarism check.
  • The Editorial Board has the authority to make minor changes to the manuscripts that do not concern the results and findings, including but not limited to: shortening the title, redistributing keywords, or resizing the graphics.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to request major revisions or reject a manuscript entirely on the grounds of fatal errors or suspected academic dishonesty.
  • Editorial Board is responsible for the selection of papers and the selection of reviewers.
  • Manuscripts not adhering to the guideline and template will be returned for revision without review.

Double-Blind Review Process

  • Manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers.
  • Reviewers are unaware of the identity of the authors, and authors are also unaware of the identity of reviewers.
  • The reviewers' comments are then sent to the authors for necessary actions and responses.
  • The decision proposed by the reviewer will be evaluated in the editorial board meeting.
  • Reviewing process will consider novelty, objectivity, method, scientific impact, conclusion, and references.
  • Final acceptance of a manuscript is determined by the Editorial Board, taking into consideration the totality of the peer review reports and subsequent author revisions.
  • Section Editor will send the final decision regarding the submission to the corresponding author based on the reviewer’s recommendation.
  • Editorial Board shall protect the confidentiality of all material submitted to the journal and all communications with reviewers.

  • The review process will take approximately 4 to 10 weeks.
