The March 2025 issue (Vol. 8 No. 1) centers on innovative approaches to teaching and learning informatics, with a strong emphasis on empowering 21st-century skills and improving student outcomes through engaging pedagogical strategies. Articles in this issue explore the application of constructivist approaches in high school informatics learning, the development of interactive media for vocational students in computer networking subjects, and a critical analysis of Android applications on the Google Play Store as potential media for learning Java programming. The issue further highlights the effectiveness of game-based learning strategies, featuring quasi-experimental studies on the use of Kahoot in vocational animation education and the influence of Wordwall-assisted game-based learning on informatics learning outcomes, collectively affirming the significant role of interactive and technology-driven methodologies in enhancing student engagement and academic achievement.

Vol. 8 No. 3 (2025)The Journal of Informatics and Vocational Education is a peer-reviewed journal published by Sebelas Maret University as a platform for research in informatics and technology-based vocational education. The November 2025 issue (Vol. 8 No. 3) contains five articles focusing on the use of digital technology to improve student learning outcomes and motivation, ranging from the use of interactive multimedia in problem-based learning and web-based visual diagramming tools for algorithm learning to the integration of digital platforms in vocational marketing courses.
Furthermore, this issue also discusses the technical and managerial aspects of vocational education. An experimental study compared the effectiveness of two network simulators—GNS3 and Cisco Packet Tracer—in learning VLAN configuration, finding that GNS3 was superior for higher education. Meanwhile, an article used Python and Google Colab to map the availability of productive teachers in vocational high schools, revealing a distribution disparity that warrants more integrated human resource planning.
